*~*Memorial For The Beloved Chin We Lost*~*
Rest In Peace Abbie

I got her from Chintasia and I can't get over how tame she is! She has to be the most laid back chin I own. She is very well socialized and will actually just sit in your lap and be still and enjoys to be pet. I can pet her like one of my cats. She is a very nice big chin and a great mother. I couldn't have asked for a sweeter chin.
UPDATE AS OF 11/27/03
We lost the "Queen" of our herd this Thanksgiving. We had noticed she had been in the bottom of the cage all day. But didn't think much about it, cause she appeared fine. Later Thanksgiving night, we went to check on her. She was laying on her side, and we had commented how she had been in the bottom all day. So we went to touch her, with no response. We picked her up, and she was listless and limp. We put her on the bed and she started trying to move, dragging her legs behind her. Off to the Emergency Room we went. From her X-Rays they thought she had a blockage in her cecum and wanted to keep her overnight to treat her for that. If that didn't work, surgery was the next option. Just the overnight stay was $600. With ALL of this, her chances of survival were less than 25%. I just couldn't spend that kind of money with chances being so low and putting her through all of that. So we opted to put her to sleep. It was the most horrid choice I have ever had to make.
The vet wanted to do a necropsy, and frankly I wanted her to also.
Well I ended up being glad that I made the correct decision with Abbie. Come to find out, the root of her small intestine got twisted at the root cutting off all blood supply to her small intestine. So she was very ill and in a lot of pain. The vet said since that is what had happened I probably couldn't have saved her. Her chances nearly none.
I will always think about and miss Abbie tremendously. She was the sweetest chin, loved her nutrical and raisins, and was a surrogate mom and great mom to anyone that needed her. It was such a freak of nature what happened to her. She was a big and healthy girl.
Abbie, I am so sorry... I love and miss you so much!!
